How to apply light text on a dark background on your WordPress Site or Blogger Blog

You looked around my website/blog all right, and you are interested of doing this trick to your blog? This tutorial will show you how to apply light text on a dark background.

Why light text on a dark background?

Say if you had a CRT monitor connected to your computer, and your blog uses dark text on a lighted background. The lit background consumes more energy,–causing climate change. That can be problematic for some people who wanted to conserve energy in some states,–where power is used constantly. The coal-burning plant is burning more fuel as your monitor with a lit background with black text,–just like a paperback book. Well, paper from trees can lead to climate change too!

Our sites relying on dark text on lit background still consumes power.

How to Choose A Web-Hosting Service While You’re Disabled

For the past years; I was relying on a free blogging platform,–where I host my own blog to write stories. For example; I write about fairies, and fictional places. It’s always a good idea to start off with a free blogging platform,–then choose a hosting package via any company you’ve wish to join to run your site. Within this tutorial; I’ll show you how to choose a web-hosting company… along with some potential obstacles you may encounter.

In the USA; all disabled individuals rely on SSI, and other government benifits to help themselves rent homes; pay bills; and buy food and supplies. This is common to all of us in my opinion. However; It’s possible to set your remaining money aside for other uses. Whether you used it for gas money, or money for your vacation,–or buying your own house in the future; it’s always a good idea to keep some extra money with you because, that’s important for your financial safety.

There are some common categories of disabilities. There’s visual disabilities, hearing disabilities, etc.

Some people didn’t even understand; some disabled individuals are unbanked because, maybe their parents didn’t setup banking accounts for them,–the same thing what caused me to miss out on setting money aside safely. Many disabled individuals has missed out on monetizing content on these common websites, such as YouTube, Vimeo, Daily Motion, etc. This is a daunting issue. That means; if you were using these common ad networks; and you were just monetizing content like usual… sometimes; the ad network can fraudulently suspend your account, and steal your earnings. If this is the case; you might need to file a complaint via any customer-based sites,–where you can file complaints against any ad networks who were involved in fraudulent account suspensions.

Missing out in running your own site via web-hosting? No problem!!

Financial services for the unbanked are available. Most stores offer refillable debit cards, but some cards requires you to have a credit check done first. If you prefer to go the another route,–such as signing up for a banking account in your local city; and you saved enough money to fund your account… you can get yourself a debit card for your account. PayPal, and other payment platforms must prompt us to varify our accounts with a banking account,–so we can withdraw/ad funds.

The reason why most web-hosting companies rely on credit/debit card processors because, it’s fast, and reliable. They don’t often support check submissions because, they wanted to go paperless. That means; they’re saving trees to keep our earth cool. Since disabled individuals were susceptible to debit/credit card fraud; you have to be very careful when handling these instruments.

If you live an area where internet connections were susceptible to spying; ask your network administrator to implement anti-spying programs to protect your privacy.

To Begin Building Your Website

What I’ve mentioned just earlier; always start off with a free blogging platform that won’t charge you a dime. Blogger… owned by Google Inc. is strongly recommended because, you can have up to unlimited amount of posts, pages, and some widgets. This is an easy route for your starting blogging career, or as a hobby,–or as a business. Free code-learning sites to learn about html, or any other codes are available. That enables you to save you lots of money. You don’t need to go to a coding school, and spend on expensive registration fees. Most free blogging platforms link to these sites. The known site you can go to is w3schools.com, that’s the place where you can learn HTML, PHP, CSS, and java-script. It’s free, and there’s no paywalls!

Like most websites what you launch; you can setup a URL via a subdomain of any blogging platform,–depending on their website structure. To launch your free website; follow these steps:

  1. Start off with choosing a desired blogging platform. It’s easy by creating a free account. Always check their terms carefully,–if you wanted to post your ads on your site to monetize content in the future.

Follow these instructions provided by a blogging platform of choice. Always read the documentation carefully! They contain helpful articles if you have trouble with your site.

  2. Write your first posts… You can write a story online; you can categorize your content with categories, or lables,–so users who were visiting your site can read content that is organized. You can write your post as a chapter of a book, or a standalone book,–or a cluster of stories. You can also create a wiki for your books what you’re writing.

  3. Stick with your free blog. You can monetize it if you want. This is useful if you wanted to make money with your blog.

Some site-monetization services offer direct-deposit features to get your earnings fast,–without needing to make trips to your local bank branch.

  4. Keep writing your posts,–until you’ve reached at least 44+ posts on your website/blog. It may take some time,–depending on your content. A blog with 100+ posts are most likely to be read by more people than some blog with only few content. The more post you’ve publish… the larger your blog gets. A free blogging service administrator manages servers for you. They make it easier for many people who wanted to launch their own site. It takes learning.

So, you written a large blog with over 100+ posts, and you’ve successfully monetized your content. You can move to a new web-host of choice. But before we go further… let’s talk about problems with hosting your videos on YouTube:

Blind individuals were susceptible to having their videos fraudulently taken down by copyright trolls, copyfraud is on the rise. No user who is disabled is protected against copyfraud. YouTube has these vague help videos that makes their platform worse. If this is the case, try signing up for a VPS hosting account. I’ll mention this later in this article.

Choosing Your Web-Hosting provider Of Choice

Green web-hosting companies are available. But some packages are priced. It’s always a good idea to choose a monthly plan to run your site. Choosing your domain for your site is kind of fun. You can choose to have a .com site; .org site; or a .net site for your website. You can get wordpress for your hosting plan. Starting off with a shared plan is important because, that enables you to stay remain in budget. But the catch is; you can’t host your videos directly,–unless you choose a VPS plan instead. You need to be comfortable with advanced features. But you’ll get used to it overtime!

  1. Choose a web-host that is green,–caring about our planet.
  2. Use a desired payment platform to pay for your services,–chosen by you. What I’ve mentioned above; always start with a shared plan.
  3. Migrate your content from a free blog what you’ve written earlier. Be sure to choose WordPress because, it’s easy to use, and it’s open-source.
  4. Clear away your older site, or ask the admin to archive it,–if you want to use your free blog as a fallback site. Don’t leave your ads running on your old site, bring them with you,–if you were monetizing your new site.
  5. Continue publishing new posts.

Now you’ve moved to your new host, and you saved enough money to fund your banking account. Always visit your bank to reload your account regularly. You can also setup an additional account to sort your funds for managing hosting bills,–until your confirmed you’ve monetized your site successfully.

If you have saved more money in the future; and you wanted to host your own videos on your site; you can upgrade to VPS to host your own videos. This is necessary if you want to boycott YouTube altogether. Be sure to check with your hosting-provider to see if they have an upgrade feature available.

The reason why you should use the VPS plan because, you can host your videos without taking any of these resources of shared-hosting package. It can take up to 1000+ posts to take up a shared server. It’s kind of like using over 20 apartments in one complex. Or an entire shared house. Depending on a size of your VPS; you may need toupgrade regularly. This is useful to keep your videos on your site,–instead of relying on YouTube’s ugly features, and their ugly copyright system that is fraudulent, vague, misleading, harsh, rotten, disgusting, corrupted, and youcky! Their tubes has been “yucked up”.

Tip

Periodically renew your domain, and pay your bills early. Always save some money for important needs for your site. Don’t go gambling to casinos because, you will lose your money overtime.

Don’t let anyone take your money. You had the right to protect yourself against any form of fraud.

If a third party manages your money for you; ask them to withhold some money after paying bills. this is necessary for you to have enough money for your web-hosting services. That applies to emergency food banks in the USA.

And Now… you are running your own site without a worry,–as long as you keep creating something unique from your imagination.
