Stub Of Death? How To Resolve It When Writing An E-book

Writing an E-book all right; and it’s a short story? You might encounter a problem! Your book isn’t a book just yet.

A book has more than 1 page. While a stub is just a sheet of paper, or an E-book is too small in size! I called it: “The Stub Of Death.” If you have a problem like this; you can expand it, it can take some time for your book to transform from a stub,–to an actual book what you are writing.

Let’s fix this problem!

First, go to your documents via Google Drive or any other word editor online. Or go to your local files folder on your computer, and edit your desired book what you are writing.

If you are writing a long book, you can add new paragraphs for each chapter of your book. They can become stubs too! Most office programs on your computer enables you to insert page breaks to start a new chapter without needing to press enter many times.

If your book is a short story; expand it just a little bit or so, and confirm your book is long enough to resolve this problem.

Save your work, if your files are online; they’re saved automatically.

If you are a self-publisher who uses either Smashwords, Draft2Digital, or any self-publishing platform, update your work, and confirm if the problem is fixed. If you are publishing via Google Books, stub of death is resolved by having at lease 4 to 8 pages on your E-book.

How Does this Problem Occurred?

  • Authors are writing short stories that are too short.
  • Authors are rushing their work,–but not focusing on their work.
  • Authors don’t have any experience with writing stories, and reading ready-made books,–published by other authors.
  • Authors are using small print to write books. That can be a problem for some readers who have poor vision.
  • Authors using 2-collumn formats when writing via any word-editing programs.
  • Writers aren’t writing any part of the story that is long enough.
  • Blind authors who are writing textual books are most likely to encounter this problem. You can still expand your work with a word-editing program.

expanding stubs is the only way to fix the problem. It may take some time for the Stub Of Death to go away. If you resolved it, and you updated your work, your readers will be happy with a powerful fix what you just applied.

If You Are Writing A Chapter Book; Try the Following:

  • If you are writing books online; you can insert new paragraphs after each paragraph of your chapter of your book. You can add new ideas to your work as you write.
  • If you have list items, add more information to each item.
  • Images will not resolve the Stub Of Death. Readers are focusing on words.
  • Try expanding paragraphs in your story. If you are writing it down, convert it to digital by typing it up on your computer.
  • Don’t waste pages when writing your E-book. Try writing a textual book, and describe parts of your story as you can. The more as you have descriptive lines in your story, readers will understand your story.
  • If your book contains more than 7 pages, your book can be long enough for some readers who are reading your book.
  • Books with over 200 pages are most likely to resolve the Stub Of Death. If you have a writing plan to write long books, you don’t need to worry about this issue. But it can still strike overtime.
  • Try exploring other E-books,and find out how authors written them.

Some authors write a book together, they can share same ideas with each other. They plan out their book what they’re writing. It can be fast, but the catch is, you need to have an agreement with your friend, relative, or any person that you trust in order to start this method of writing a book.

If you are adding your E-book to Scribdsubscription listings; your book might not be available,–due to it’s length. Short books are common. Longer books can be added to their subscription listings,–if your book is long enough.
